DEATH: GERALD V. FOWKES

Gerald V. Fowkes, 80, of Santaquin died Sept. 14, 1992 at his home of cancer.

He was born Dec. 3, 1911 at Star, Utah, a son of Heber James and Ruby Downs Fowkes. He married Elma Tietjen, September 10, 1942 in Santaquin; marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died April 6, 1987. He married Martha J. Nieporte, October 17, 1987. He was presently a Santaquin City Council member and had also served in the past on the city council. He served in stake and ward positions. He loved music and played at the Sunday night band concerts in Payson.He is survived by his wife, Santaquin; two sons and two daughters, Stephen V., (ReNee) Fowkes, Woodbridge, Virginia; Mrs. John (Becki) Preston, Tullahoma, Tennessee; Mrs. Bob (Vicki) Button, Salt Lake City; Greg J. Fowkes, Santaquin; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and four sisters, John Fowkes, Salt Lake City; Ray D. Fowkes, Ogden; Mrs. Bessie Parks, Nephi; Mrs. Spencer (Mabel) Kay, Mona; Mrs. Melba Cowan, Layton; Mrs. Alice Roundy, Calif,; stepchildren: Jack Nieporte, Orem; Tim Nieporte, Tennessee; and James Nieport, Florida.

Graveside services will be Friday, Sept. 18, 1992, 11 a.m. at Santaquin City Cemetery. Friends may call both Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. or Fri. 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Holladay Hills
