Former New York Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm will be the keynote speaker when the YWCA of Salt Lake City holds its annual Leader Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the Red Lion Hotel, 255 S. West Temple.
Chisholm, the first black woman elected to Congress, will focus her speech on women's rights. She is trying to create a new national state of mind that demands peace, prosperity and equality for all Americans.YWCA's Leader Luncheon was established in 1989 to honor the contributions of women to the Salt Lake community. Groups are invited to purchase tables of 10 for $250. Individual tickets are $25.
