Beverly Duran, winner of Avon Products Inc.'s 1992 Woman of Enterprise Award, will be the keynote speaker at the ninth-annual fall retreat, "Breakthrough '92" at the Alta Peruvian Lodge in Alta Canyon, Oct. 2 and 3.
Duran is chairman of the board of Carretas Inc., a manufacturer of unique kisosks and pushcarts in shopping malls, hotels and airports across the country based in Albuquerque. The retreat will begin Oct. 2 with a 31/2-hour hike to Catherine Pass and Sunset Peak from Albion Basin with Veda Barrie of Veda Barrie Real Estate as a guide. Check-in will begin at 4 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
Other participants include author Meg Wheatley, MAXCOM Associates; Judith Burton of The Burton Group; with a panel discussion featuring Kathleen Mason, chair of the Utah Womens Lobby; Patricia Simmons, director of government affairs for the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce; and Irene Link, Seminars for Success with moderator Linda Kruse of Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
The retreat will conclude with a group discussion moderated by Weslee Anne Klein of Skyline Electrical Contractors.
