Teamsters leader Barry Feinstein has been accused by a federally appointed investigator of taking $600,000 out of his local for personal expenses and loans.

Feinstein, 56, allegedly used more than $300,000 from the union over a seven-year period to pay for expenses at his New York apartment.Charles Carberry, a special court-appointed Teamsters union investigator, said in charges filed Wednesday that Feinstein embezzled the money from Local 237, the 17,000-member public employees union he heads.
