Francis LeRoy Thomas Sr., born September 21, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah, died September 16, 1992 as a result of Alzheimers Disease in Bennion, Utah.

Son of Francis LeRoy Thomas and Annetta Green Thomas. He was raised in Ogden by his uncle and aunt; Edgar and Mary Webb. Married Dorothyann Strickland, September 21, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.He is survived by his wife, two daughters: Nancie Dunton, Mrs.

Austin; one son, Francis L. (Tag, Tom, Unk, Roy)

Thomas Jr. and wife, Dawna; sister, Lyla Thomas

Walker; 10 grandchildren, James Dunton, Cherylyn Austin Breneman, Robert Dunton, Stephen Austin, Catherine Clyde, Bruce Austin,

Rebecca, Pamela, Bryan Thomas, and Lisa Sims; five great-grandchildren, Jamilyn and Ryan Austin, Danielle Breneman, Josh and Jenica Sims.

He served his country for 18 years in the USMC and Navy, served in World War II on the USS Philadelphia, and was honorably discharged in 1947. He was a member of the Acacia Lodge #17 F&A.M. He loved to travel and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Taught all his grandsons to be fishermen. He sponsored stock car racers and his true love was midget racing. He retired from Kennecott Copper in 1978. He loved his family. We his family would like to thank our Dad for adding color to our life. He taught us honor and value, thanks Dad. Today Dad knows us all.

Memorial services will be Friday, September 18, 1992, 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
