Brazilian singing and television star Xuxa has donated $100,000 to a relief fund for Florida victims of Hurricane Andrew.
Xuxa (it's pronounced SHOO'-zha) told her Miami-based record company when she saw television news accounts of the Aug. 24 storm she "could not sit back while so many children suffered."The singer, who hosts the internationally televised children's show "Show de Xuxa," also sent a recorded message to the international telethon "Los Hispanos Se Dan La Mano" (Hispanics Lend A Helping Hand), in which she pleaded for viewers to donate as much as they could afford.
Xuxa completed work on her latest album in a Miami studio this week and left for a concert tour in Spain.
