MONCRIEF CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Former NBA standout Sidney Moncrief has been arrested after allegedly hitting a man with a golf club at his automobile dealership here, police said.

Moncrief, 34, was booked into Glendale City Jail Tuesday night on suspicion of one count of aggravated assault, police spokesman Mitch Kelsey said.The victim, a 35-year-old Scottsdale man whose name was not released, was conducting business with Moncrief when for undetermined reasons, Moncrief allegedly picked up a golf club and struck the man twice, breaking his left arm, according to Kelsey.

Moncrief was scheduled to have his initial court appearance today.
