A Molotov cocktail sailed through the rear window of a home, causing minor fire damage and rousing three startled occupants from their beds Tuesday.
Ogden Fire Battalion Chief Ken Strebel said the 6:30 a.m. fire was being investigated as an aggravated arson. Ogden Police detective David Lucas said there are suspects. The three people escaped injury.The glass bottle filled with flammable liquid was hurled through a rear window of the home occupied by Joseph Hedgebeth, 64. Strebel said Lavert Charles Smith, 31, and Lora Palamino, 27, also were in the home.
The homemade device apparently landed in a stairwell and tumbled into the basement.
