B. Delworth Gardner and Rulon D. Pope, both professors of economics at Brigham Young University, were honored during recent meetings of the American Agricultural Economics Association in Baltimore.

Gardner was elected a fellow of the 5,000-member association, and Pope received the "Publication of Enduring Quality" award, given to the article that has had the most impact to the profession over the past decade.An association member since 1958, Gardner is nationally recognized for his contributions to natural resource economics and agricultural and resource policy.

Pope received the award for a paper co-authored with Richard E. Just of the University of Maryland, "Stochastic Specification of Production Functions and Economic Implications," published in 1978 in the Journal of Econometrics.
