SEVIER SERVES 48,000 SUMMER LUNCHES

Scouting isn't the only organization with Eagle awards. Outstanding service awards have been similarly designated in the Sevier School District, and four women swept the field this year.

Sue Douglas, Karen Pace, Jurene Hovinga and Maureen Ottley are this year's recipients of the district's Eagle awards.Douglas was chosen the district's teacher of the year for her work on the outdoor classroom committee and in helping to implement a computerized management system at the Ashman Elementary School where she teaches first grade.

Pace won the award for her outstanding efforts as director of child nutrition programs and Hovinga as school nurse. Ottley is a retired senior volunteer coordinator who was recognized for her service to education.
