DEATH: JULIA MARIE SLEIGHT SHORTRIDGE

Julia Marie Sleight Shortridge, age 68, of Ontario, Calif. died Sept. 19, 1992 at her home.

Born October 29, 1923 in Paris, Idaho, she was "retired" music teacher with the Ontario/Montclair School District, and an Ontario resident for 22 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ontario 5th Ward, where she was very involved with church youth in music. She received her master of arts degree in music from Cal State, Los Angeles. She was a member of the Calif. Music Educators Assoc., the Music Educators National Conference, and very active in the San Bernardino Music Educators Assoc. She was made an Honorary member of the PTA, and served as director of the Ontario/Montclair School District Elementary Honor Band for over 10 years.She is survived by one son, Laren R. Shortridge, Salt Lake City; one daughter, Marilyn M. Jones, Malad, Idaho; one brother, Ralph Sleight, Paris, Idaho; eight grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4th St. and Campus Ave, Ontario, Calif. Friends may call at Draper Mortuary tonight from 5-8 p.m. Interment, Paris City Cemetery, Paris, Idaho.

Donations may be given in her behalf to the San Bernardino County Music Educators Assoc., Solofest Scholarship Fund, c/o Carl Schafer, Ontario/Montclair School District, 950 West "D" St., Ontario, CA 91762. Draper Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
