You'll love the fact that you can cook and serve this colorful layered dip all in the same dish. The Mexican-style flavors guarantee that it will be a hit at just about any potluck dinner.

Layered Fiesta Spread1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 teaspoon chili powder

One 16-ounce can refried beans

One 6-ounce container frozen avocado dip, thawed

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)

Dairy sour cream

Tortilla or corn chips

In a 10-inch microwave-safe pie plate combine beef and onion. Cover with waxed paper. Cook on 100 percent power (high) for 5 to 8 minutes or until meat is no longer pink and onion is tender, stirring once. Drain off fat. Stir in chili powder, then refried beans. Cook, covered, on high for 4 to 6 minutes or until heated through, stirring once. Stir again.

Spread avocado dip over meat mixture. Cook, uncovered, on high for 3 to 4 minutes or until avocado dip is hot, giving the dish a half-turn once. Top with shredded cheese. Cook, uncovered, for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is softened, giving the dish a half-turn once. Dollop sour cream over cheese. Serve with tortilla or corn chips. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
