Toffee O. Gazell, age 90, died Sept. 23, 1992 in a Price hospital.

Born January 2, 1902 in New York, New York, son of Owad and Lula Soloman Gazell. Married Pearl Jensen; she died December 26, 1988. Member of the Catholic Church. Served in the U.S. Army, World War I. Long time resident of Helper. He worked in various coal mines in Carbon County prior to retiring from Western Fuel Co. Worked with Green Thumbs.Survived by one son and wife, Ray and Virginia Gazell, Price; five grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters, Stella Frazie, California; Charlie Joseph, Eva White, Annie Williamson, and Irene Espinoza, all Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his son, Venoy Gazell, and grandson, Bill Gazell.

Funeral Mass Saturday, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helper. Vigil service Friday evening 7 p.m., at Mitchell Chapel, where friends may call daily, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
