VOLUNTEERS TRANSPLANT 8 BUSHELS OF BULBS

A volunteer group has ringed the Tintreka Park in Eureka with eight bushels of iris bulbs.

Nine volunteers removed the iris bulbs from the grounds of an LDS Church to the park for replanting. The bulbs were taken from the ground, trimmed, separated and transplanted in three hours by the workers.Afton Berry, Nona Hyzer, Carol Rushby, Peggy Snell, Hazel and George Farnworth, Ruth Bjornson, Laura McIntyre and Betty Cones did the work.

Most of the iris plants at the church originally came from the garden of Velma and Verl Phillips. They have continued to reproduce making the beautification of Tintreka Park possible, according to the volunteers.
