Recently, I went with my daughter, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren, ages 1, 4 and 6, to Liberty Park. Naturally, the children wanted to go on the rides. I was appalled at the condition of the few rides that were there and at the price charged for such poorly maintained equipment.
I remember the beautiful carousel of my childhood and the wonderful, magical music that played as the stately horses moved gracefully up and down. Now the carousel plays no music (no carousel should be without music), and the horses are not as magnificent. At 75 cents a ride, it seems Salt Lake City could afford to provide better. If not, close them down.
