A man forced his way into a home near 1400 S. Roberta (240 East) early Saturday morning after a woman cracked the front door to see who was yelling and ringing the doorbell.
The man knocked the woman down and then went into the bedroom where the woman's husband was in bed. He beat the husband in the head, according to a Salt Lake police report.The couple told police they were familiar with their attacker and that he was intoxicated. The husband told police he believed the man was infatuated with his wife and was jealous of their marriage, the report said. The man fled after the attack.
The victim's wife took her husband to University Medical Center for treatment of bruises and abrasions.
