DEATH: JENNESS "JUNE" BENNION SWENSON

Jenness "June" Bennion Swenson, 93, passed away Saturday, September 26, 1992 in Brigham City, Utah, surrounded by her family and friends.

June was born May 3, 1899 in Mill Creek, Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of David and Clara Pherson Bennion.She graduated from high school in Vernal, Utah. She then attended the University of Utah before moving to Afton, Wyoming. June married Harry Swenson May 2, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he preceded her in death on May 11, 1979. They made their home in Afton where they raised a family and owned a sheep ranch. She was very active in the Afton Canto Chorus and the auxiliaries of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In 1963, June and Harry moved to their retirement home in Brigham City, Utah. She had a love for books, culture and gardening. June was a very diligent temple worker and loved her church. She was a skilled cook and a hard worker, and loved making homemade gifts for her family and friends. She was delighted with music, parades, concerts, and other activities associated with the arts.

She is survived by three daughters, one son and their spouses, Jenness Shepherd and Williams G, Fresno, California; Jennett Forsberg and Robert R., Rockland, Calif.; Enid Barnes and Gordon H., Salt Lake City; Earl B. Swenson and wife, Gaylie, Brigham City. Also surviving are one brother, Stanley Bennion and wife, Noreen, of Roy; and sister, Clara T. Conco of Price; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 12:00 non, on Wednesday, September 30, in the 5th Ward Chapel, 420 South 800 West. Friends may call at the Petersen Funeral Home, Brigham City, Utah, and Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. or Wednesday, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Interment in Brigham City Cemetery.
