AD GRAPHIC DESIGNER RECEIVES ARTS COUNCIL GOVERNOR'S AWARD

Randall Smith, a principal in the firm of Randall Smith Associates,

337 S. 400 East, a graphic design and advertising company, has received a Governor's Award from the Utah Arts Council for his contributions to graphic design.Nominations for the award came from the Salt Lake Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and recognized his contributions to the field of graphic design in both education and practice.

Smith was the founding president of the chapter and has been in private practice since 1980. He has worked in a corporate graphic design department and teaches the history of graphic design at the University of Utah. He has bachelor's degrees in graphic design from the U. Art Department and advertising from the Communications Department.
