ACTOR AMONG 5 RECIPIENTS OF '92 HISPANIC AWARDS

"Stand and Deliver" star Edward James Olmos was among five winners of the 1992 Hispanic Heritage Awards.

Olmos won an Emmy for his portrayal of Lt. Castillo on "Miami Vice."The other winners this week were Jose Luis "Chegui" Torres, light heavyweight boxing champ in 1965; Luis Valdez, writer-director of the movie "La Bamba"; Antonia Pantoja, a community activist; and former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros, the first Hispanic mayor of a major American city.

The awards will be presented Sept. 15.

They have been given annually since 1986. Nominations are made by a committee representing 30 national Hispanic organizations.
