Democratic 2nd Congressional District candidate Karen Shepherd signed the Utah Coalition for America's Children's "I'm for Kids" pledge and said caring for America's children must be at the top of America's priority list.

In signing the pledge, Shepherd promised to support legislation to improve children's access to affordable health care, adequate food and housing and a quality education system.Shepherd's specific proposals to help children include federal college loans that could be paid back with interest or two years of community service, as well as increased efforts to warn parents of the negative impacts of television programming and other media.
