ARGENTINE FILM HONORED AT SAN SEBASTIAN FILM FESTIVAL

An Argentine film by a director who has not shot a movie in four years won the top prize at Europe's oldest film festival.

"Un Lugar en el Mundo" ("A Place in the World"), directed by Adolfo Aristarain, won the Golden Shell award for the best film at the San Sebastian international film festival.A sensitive account of a man's return to the small village where he grew up, his first love and his memories of his parents' cooperative, the film was favorite for the prize and critics have said it is Aristarain's best work.

Aristarain's past films include "Tiempo de Revancha" ("Time for Revenge") and "Ultimas Dias de la Victima" ("Last Days of the Victim").

"Un Lugar en el Mundo" stars Federico Luppi, Leonor Benedetto, Cecilia Roth and Jose Sacristan.
