A West Valley man died early Wednesday when a vehicle struck the bicycle he was riding.
Walter Schramm, 61, was pedaling northbound near 1951 S. Redwood Road about 4:45 a.m. when a line of vehicles apparently backed up behind him. One of the cars veered around him, and a second car hit the bicyclist. The collision knocked Schramm about 50 feet, Salt Lake Police Lt. Scott Folsom said. The driver, Han Nguyen, 56, of Murray, apparently did not see the victim until it was too late.
