Want music throughout your house? Want to watch a movie in the family room and check on the baby in the nursery without leaving your chair?

Audition Inc. can provide the technology to make all that happen. Will West and John Giolas, partners in Audition Inc., can provide a plethora of home audio and video features, as well as state-of-the-art "smart house" controls.

Customers especially like the company's home theaters that can be equipped with 80-inch or 100-inch screens and "surround sound."

When installing theaters in homes, "we put it in so it disappears when you're not using it," West said.

When a person does want to use it, "you sit down, hit a button, the screen comes down out of the ceiling, the projector comes down, the laser disk player turns on, the popcorn popper turns on and the lights dim," West said.

Audition Inc. can provide other kinds of conveniences. When a weary homeowner gets off work and steps inside the door, he or she can flip a switch and "it's the entertainment mode - the lights dim, Mozart comes over all the speakers in the house," said West. "It's fun."

He and his partner can also rig equipment so parents watching TV in one part of the house can check to see what's on the screen if children are watching TV in another room.

Parents also can program TV sets in children's rooms so the TV won't turn on during certain times.

"We can install these things and keep the integrity of the good looks of the home intact," West said. "We carry the best products in the industry related to video or audio."

Audition Inc. will display some of its technological wizardry at the 14th annual Home Improvement and Modern Living Show at the Salt Palace.

It will be held from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10; and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
