SATURDAY, Sept. 12, the Greek Festival 5K Classic, One-Mile Healthwalk and Kid's Run. Starts and ends near Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 279 S. 300 West, at 8 a.m. 328-9681.

SATURDAY, Sept. 12, Six Cities Road Race. 20K run begins at North Salt Lake Park and ends at Farmington Elementary School. Register DeBoer's Running Store, 5 Points Mall, Bountiful, UT 84010. 292-8267.

SATURDAY, Sept. 12, the Huntsville Half Marathon and 5K run. Marathon starts 8 a.m., 5K at 8:30 a.m. at Huntsville Town Park. Fund raiser for Weber State Track Team. 626-6940.

SATURDAY, Sept. 12, the Across the Valley Half Marathon. Start Wellsville Elementary School at Willow Park in Logan. Start 8 a.m. 753-7792.

FRIDAY, Sept, 18, will be the 24-hour Relay Against Cancer starting at Ogden High School at 7 p.m. Teams of 8 to 10 may run, walk or move around the track for 24 hours. Cost is $15 per person, but participants are asked to raise an additional $100 donation. Music, games and volleyball will go on during run. 393-8657.

SATURDAY, Sept. 19, Volunteers Run/Walk for Schools. 5K run and 11/2-mile walk. Start This is the Place Monument. 328-7346.

SATURDAY, Sept. 19, the Ogden City Mall Classic - 10K, 5K, 2-mile walk, and kids races. 621-2680.

Triathlon

SATURDAY, Sept. 5, The Kill Quest Triathlon at Quest Sport and Fitness, 10300 S. Redwood, at 7 a.m. - 1/4 miles swim, 19.2 miles bike, 5K run. $20 pre-registration. Mountain bike division has a $500 purse. 254-6999.

MONDAY, Sept. 7, the Bountiful Labor Day Perfect Triathlon. Start 7:30 a.m. with 400-meter swim 12-mile bike, 4-mile run. 467-4203.

SATURDAY, Sept. 12, the Jordanelle Biathlon and Triathlon. Start Park City Park and ends Rockport State Park. Biathlon - 10K run and 20K mountain bike. Triathlon - include 3K mountain boat. 359-9361.

SATURDAY, Sept. 19, the Cottonwood Heights Rec Fall Triathlon at 2700 E. 7500 South, 8 a.m. 4.5-mile run, 9.5-mile bike, 400 meter swim. Must have helmet. 467-4203.

Tennis

JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENTS - Sign up by Sept. 28 for the Bloomington Junior tournament in St. George. Play will be Oct. 9-11; and sign up by Oct. 5 for the Ridge Junior Fall Championships at the Ridge Club in Orem. Play will be Oct. 16-24. Football

FLAG FOOTBALL I - Registrations are being taken at East Millcreek Rec Center, 2230 Evergreen, in Salt Lake City, 84109, for Flag Football for boys and girls ages 8-12. Cost is $25 for eight weeks. Games are on Saturdays at Evergreen Park. Deadline Sept. 12. 272-2243.

FLAG FOOTBALL II - Sandy City is organizing a flag football league for boys and girls 8-15. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday for grades 3rd-4th and 5th-6th, and Tuesday and Thursday for 7th, 8th and 9th. Times 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Games start last week of September. Cycling

RIDES. Every Tuesday Evening through September there will be a Cache Valley evening Bicycle Time Trials event in Logan. 752-2161.

BIKE CLINIC. Ed Chauner will hold a bicycle clinic every Wednesday for women and Sunday for everyone through Sept. 13. Helmet required, gloves recommended. Classes geared to beginners and novice mountain bike riders. 943-5616 or 521-6040, ext. 4050.

FAT TIRE FESTIVAL - Sept. 27 the Tour des Suds in Park City.

CLIMB. The Snowbird 14th annual Bicycle Hill Climb will be Sept. 12. More than $7,000 in prizes awarded. Starts 9400 S. 2100 East at 9 a.m. and finished in Snowbird parking lot. Fee is $9. 521-6040, ext. 4080.

Volleyball

Other events

PRACTICAL SHOOTING - The Salt Lake Practical Shooting Association will be holding monthly matches and practice sessions. Monthly matches will be held at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the Hendricksen PMAA range at the East Canyon exit of I-80 in Parleys Canyon.

HORSESHOE. Here is the Northern Horseshoe Pitchers Association: Sept. 5 at South Jordan at 5:30 p.m.; Sept. 9-11 the Utah State Fair; Sept. 12 at Washington Terrace at 2 p.m.; Sept. 18 at Riverton at 6 p.m.; Sept. 19 at Riverton at 11 a.m.; and Sept. 26 at American Fork at 11 a.m.

STATE PARKS - Sept. 5-7 the Fort Buenaventura Labor Day Mountain Man Rendezvous; Sept. 17-20 the Mountain Man Rendezvous at Bear Lake; Sept. 19 at Freemont Indian State Park the Primitive Technology Workshop; and Sept. 26 the Fremont Indian Fall Equinox Discovery.

REI. Clinics for September include: Exploring the History of Alaska's Aleutian Island on Sept. 1 with Jim Johnson, a professional diver from Alaska; Fun in the Galapagos Islands on Sept. 8 with Christa Poulter; Seldom Seen Corners of Utah and Nevada on Sept. 15 with Alyson Heyrend; The Future of Arches National Park on Sept. 22 with representatives of the National Park Service; and Tour De Farms on Sept. 29 with REI's Karen Huber who spent July cycling from Missouri River to Mississippi in 20th Annual Great Bike Ride. All clinics are free, all begin at 7 p.m. and all are at REI, 3285 E. 3300 South.
