With pioneer games and sing-a-longs, the village of Old Deseret celebrates "Harvest Days," then closes for the season after Labor Day weekend.
Old Deseret is an 11-building village on the grounds of Pioneer Trail State Park, just north of Hogle Zoo at 2601 Sunnyside Ave. The celebration takes place Saturday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can tour the town on foot or by covered wagon. At each building they'll find volunteers in period clothing, demonstrating crafts of the period. Games will be held for children. Admission is $1.50 for adults, $1 for children, or $6 per family.
