BOND OK WOULD LET PROVO DISTRICT BUILD AND REPAIR SCHOOLS, BUY LAND

Provo School District will hold an $18 million bond election Tuesday to raise money to build, remodel and renovate schools and buy property.

Almost half of the money, $8 million, would be used to build a new middle school at a time not yet determined. Provo's two middle schools are crowded, but the district currently doesn't have the money to run a new school. The owner of a $75,000 home would pay an additional $38.75 a year in property tax should voters approve the bond. The tax increase would be used to pay off the debt.
