Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, and valiant servant of our Heavenly Father, Clyde Shirley Reynolds, passed away September 5, 1992 at his home.

Born December 10, 1921 to H. Clyde and Ella Mae Jacklin Reynolds. Shirley was born and raised in the South Cottonwood area. He attended Granite High School, and the University of Utah. He served a mission to the Central States from 1941-43.He is survived by his life time and eternal sweetheart, Ruth Marjorie Kim; they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 10, 1943. He is the father of six children, G. Kim and wife Ann; Shirleen Burkinshaw and husband Craig; Connie Pearson and husband Craig; R. Lance and wife Leslie; Bradley V. and wife Kathy; Robert B. and wife Michelle; grandfather of 24, whom he truly loved. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Mrs. James (Donna) Marsden; J. Gordon Reynolds; Mrs. Rulon (Collen) Boyce; and C. Calvin Reynolds.

He served in the South Cottonwood bishopric from 1944 to 1956, then as bishop for many years. He was on the Cottonwood Stake High Council from 1956-60, and in the South Cottonwood Stake Presidency from 1960-78, and stake president of the South Cottonwood Stake for 10 years. He presided as mission president in Perth, Australia, where he continued to show his great love for people. He so loved missionary work and many called him "Mr. Missionary." He was regional representative to the Twelve over three regions from 1981-87, and was currently serving as a sealer in the Jordan River Temple.

Other positions: president, Reynolds Bros. Excavation; Chairman of the Central Utah Seminary and Institute Board (65-70); Chairman of the Social Services Advisory Board (83-87); Cottonwood Hospital Governing Board (71-78); Holladay Bank Board; Chairman, Emergency Response and Flood Control Board (81-87); Associate of Welch Fish Hatchery; expertise in real estate and construction; avid supporter of BYU Football, and found great pleasure in traveling with his family to the games.

Our husband, father and grandfather, will be greatly missed. We cherish the time he spent with us, and will always remember his great example. He lives in our hearts for ever, and we hope to live righteously so we can be with him again.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 1992, at 12:00 noon, in the South Cottonwood Stake Center, 1250 East 4800 South. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. or Wednesday, from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the stake center. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
