Fred Manuel Torres, 64, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away September 5, 1992 in the presence of his loving family.

He was born January 1, 1928 at LaGarita, Colorado, to Fred R. and Gertrude Valdez Torres. He was married 43 years to Maria Herrera Torres on May 13, 1950.He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Richfield, Utah, and a member of The Knights of Columbus. He retired from Kennecott Copper Smelter after 31 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors, but most of all he loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Maria, of Mayfield, Utah. a son, Monty Torres and wife, Sue of Illinois. Three daughters: Dianne Leavitt, Salt Lake City; Renna Torres-Woods, and husband, Dennis, of California; Arlene Martin, and husband, Jack, of Salt Lake City. 12 grandchildren. Six sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Fred R. Torres and a sister.

Funeral mass will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at the San Andres Catholic Church, 315 East 100 North, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Tuesday, 7-9:00 p.m. Rosary 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
