Dr. Roy Gordon Woodhead, age 88, died Monday, September 7, 1992, at the Cottonwood Hospital of causes incident to age.

He was born June 3, 1904 in Clear Creek, Utah, a son of William Henry and Ruth Hayes Woodhead. He graduated from Layola Dental School in 1927 and had practiced dentistry in Tremonton for 50 years. On July 7, 1935 he married Winnifred Laurie in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1954.He was a lieutenant commander with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a High Priest in the Tremonton 5th Ward. He had served as an officiator in the Logan Temple for 25 years. Dr. Woodhead spoke fluent French and played the violin.

Surviving are his wife, Salt Lake City; three sons, Robert G. Woodhead and wife, Nadine, Sandy; William Woodhead and wife, Jan, Herdon, Virginia; Thomas, Roy Woodhead and wife, Linda of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter Sally Bellis of Midvale; 12 grandchidlren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Maude Cusac. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836-36th St., Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Entombment, Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Mausoleum.
