Joseph Loray Garrett, age 80, passed away Sept. 6, 1992 at his home in Nephi, Utah.

Born January 19, 1912 in Nephi, Utah to Robert Pixton Garrett and Erma Jones Garrett. Married Ellen Anderson October 30, 1933, in Nephi, Utah; later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Dec. 14, 1985. Joe was known for the love he had for his fellowmen, his qyick wit and his remarkable memory and ability to entertain with his many stories. He was a member of the LDS Church. He also had been involved in various organizations, including the Cattlemen's Association, Riding, club, City Council, Irrigation Board, Ute Stampede and Old Folks Committee.Survived by his wife of Nephi; one son and one daughter, Robert Ray Garrett, Nephi; Marion Garrett Mikkelson and husband, Gene, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, R.

Roscoe Garrett, Lucy Sanders, Corrine Garrett, all of Nephi; and Afton Lambert, Ogden; a foster brother, David Mecham, Oakland, California.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 1992 in the Nephi LDS 3rd Ward, 351 North 100 West. Friends may call Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the Anderson Funeral home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi. Burial, Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
