Violette Verdy, teaching associate of the New York City Ballet, is spending a large block of time in Utah this winter. From Jan. 4-16 she taught for the Utah Ballet and choreographed a new ballet for the company's spring concert. From Jan. 18-Feb. 6, she will be guest teacher with Ballet West.
Verdy's illustrious performing career included appearances with American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, La Scala, London Festival Ballet and Roland Petit's Ballet. She has been artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet and Boston Ballet, and remains active as a panelist and committee member of many arts and humanities organizations.
