It stood up to the onslaught of 90 winters, but the Charleston Elementary School couldn't survive the record snowfalls of 1992-93. No one was hurt when the roof and parts of the second-story walls collapsed late last week. The building hasn't been used as a school for 42 years but was still used for town meetings and recreation. Residents in the southwest Heber Valley say it was the last remnant of historic Charleston.
