Mary Raffini died on January 3, 1993, of a heart attack in her home in Phoenix, Arizona.

She was born November 16, 1947 in Racine, Wisconsin. Mary completed her Master's degree from Goddard College in 1974. Mary was the Director of the Elizabeth Stone House in Boston, one of the first residential mental health crisis programs for women. Upon moving to Salt Lake, she served as Executive Director of the Salt Lake County ARC from 1978 to 1980. From 1980 to 1992, Mary worked as a teacher in Granite School District, was active in community agencies, and spoke nationally on mental health and other issues. Mary was devoted to fostering growth, understanding and awareness in her students, associates and friends. Her ebullient spirit and ability to evoke warmth with humor is missed by her friends, students, and family.Addio Mary.
