Curtis Rigby passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness, Jan. 23, 1993.
He was born July 24, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jenny V. Johnson and Francis E. Rigby. He married JoeAnn Barnes October 15, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He served in World War II at the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. He was an excellent provider and wonderful example to all of his children. He had unconditional love for his family and everyone whose life he touched. He held numerous callings, including bishop, in the LDS Church; and at the time of his death, he was preparing to serve a mission.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, JoeAnn; three sons and eight daughters, Bob and Marilyn, Carol and Shell Madarang, Gary and Shirley, Dixie and Larry Egan, Vickie Reese, Becky and Dennis Whipple, Trudy and Pat Dumas, Wendy Palmer, Cindy and Doug Gatherum, Kathy and Wally Nelson, Kelly and Karen; 33 grandchildren; five and one-half great-grandchildren; and his dog, Patch.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 27, 1993 at 12:30 p.m. at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4100 South 4400 West. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive.
