Green-eyed, blond Meggan Callaway is the new Miss Nephi for 1993.
The Juab High School senior was selected from a field of seven in competition at Juab High School auditorium recently. Callaway, the daughter of Loren and Donna Callaway, was presented with a $310 scholarship.Selected as her attendants are: Misty Kay, daughter of Rhonda and Kayle Johnson and Richard and Lucinda Kay, first attendant; and Melinda Messersmith, daughter of Paul and Jackie Messersmith, second attendant. Both attendants won $150 scholarships. Each of the winners received crowns, flowers, portraits, and tickets to the Ute Stampede.
Karen Mellor, daughter of Charles and Ora May Mellor, won the community service award of $200 for the work she did for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in helping them with the new museum.
Callaway is a member of the National Honor Society, the Provita Drill Team, attended Girl's State, was junior varsity and varsity cheerleader, attended the National History Fair in Washington, D.C., as a state winner, was junior class president and sophomore class secretary, and was FFA sweetheart attendant.
