FBI Director William Sessions said Monday he wants to talk to President Clinton about charges that he used government money for personal benefit.

"I am hopeful and believe that President Clinton will meet with me at some point," Sessions said on NBC's "Today Show."A Justice Department report has accused Sessions of engaging in a pattern of misconduct including misuse of FBI travel funds, improperly charging the government for a fence at his home and improper use of FBI vehicles and agency personnel.

Sessions said he expects Acting Attorney General Stuart Gerson will review the allegations, "and there is obviously to be review at the White House as well."

Sessions said Sunday that former Attorney General William Barr waged a planned, personal attack on him in the closing days of the Bush administration.
