Southern Idaho, the nation's top-ranked junior college, recorded two lopsided victories over the weekend to remain unbeaten in the Scenic West Conference.
SI, now 9-0 in league play and 22-0 overall, thumped Eastern Utah 97-69 and Colorado Northwestern 106-79.Jimmy Moore scored 28 points and pulled down nine rebounds Saturday to help Dixie College keep pace with SI, as the Rebels downed North Idaho 111-93. Dixie also got past Ricks 82-75 on Friday. The Rebels are one game back at 8-1 and 20-1.
The two other title contenders, NI and EU, fell off the pace. In addition to its loss to Dixie, NI fell to Snow 88-80. EU was upset by Treasure Valley 101-94, as the Chukars' Shawn Penney poured in 27 points.
EU dropped to 6-3 in league play, and NI slipped to 5-4.
In other Scenic West play, Treasure Valley got past Colorado Northwestern 85-73, and Utah Valley dropped Salt Lake 94-82. Ricks College got the Scenic West's only road win of the week, beating Snow 79-68.
