The City Council will discuss the following items in its Tuesday, Jan. 26, meeting at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, 56 N. State.
- Appointment to boards and commissions: the Historic Preservation Committee, three vacancies; the Metropolitan Water Committee, one vacancy; the Recreation Advisory Committee, three vacancies; and the the Utah Transit Authority Committee, one vacancy.
- City manager's appointments to boards and commissions: Board of Adjustments, one vacancy; Planning Commission, two vacancies.
- Lot bond release, East View Condominiums Phase 4, Lot 2.
- Set public hearing to amend the 1992-93 budget, Feb. 9, 7 p.m.
- Presentation from Amtrak Facilities. Mona Rae Jeppson has requested time to present her concerns about the needs for better facilities for Amtrak customers in Utah Valley.
- Agreement and ordinance, solid waste collection services: the city manager recommends that the council by motion make an adjustment in the proposed agreement; by ordinance, amend the solid waste ordinance to allow for privatization of collection services; by motion, authorize the mayor to execute the agreement.
- Resolution on the conditional use permit and preliminary development plan for North Abby Condominiums, 50 units, 1800 N. State R-1-6.5 zone. The Planning Commission recommends the City Council, by resolution, grant approval of a conditional use permit for standard land use code 111, condominiums, and approval of the preliminary development plans of North Abby condominiums.
- Report on the city's mid-year financial status. The city manager recommends that the City Council accept the mid-year report and five-year forecast.
- Review of Dead End Streets: Public Works recommends the City Council, by motion, set this item for public hearing with upcoming master plan amendments.
- Newsletter status. The community education coordinator recommends the City Council, by motion, determine by which method the monthly "Community Ties" newsletter should be published and distributed.
