James Johansen, age 75, passed away January 25, 1993, in a Murray hospital.

Born February 1, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Peter and Theresa Agle Johansen, the oldest of 12 children. Married Ruth Mackay on October 23, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired mechanic, Granite School District. Active member and high priest in the LDS Church; Jordan River Temple worker. He was also active in Republican Party.Survived by wife; four daughters, one son: Sharleen Hallett, Pam Smith, Cindy North, Valerie Swenson, Greg M. Johansen; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; mother; four brothers, five sisters. Preceded in death by father and a son, Lenny Johansen.

Funeral services Thursday, January 28th, 11 a.m., Eldridge LDS Ward, 2700 South Main Street. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, and Thursday, 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
