Sheldon LeMoyne Kennedy, our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away January 24, 1993 at his home on the ranch. A true gentleman, he spent his life being kind, caring, and serving others.

Sheldon was born March 11, 1917, in Randolph, Utah, to Joseph S. and Lota Hatch Kennedy. Graduated from South Rich High School in 1935. Attended Utah State University and served a mission to the Northwestern States. In World War II, served in the United States Army from 1941-1945 in the South Pacific. Married Willa Thornock on August 23, 1944, in the Salt Lake Temple.After the war, he spent his lifetime cattle ranching. Served 40 years in Scouting in various capacities and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was involved in 4-H Club leadership for many years and received the Farm Bureau Leadership award in 1967. Member of the Lions Club, Rich County Cattleman's Association, FHA, Soil Conservation Board, ASCS Committee for 21 years, and held leadership positions in all of the above. Served on the Randolph Cemetery committee which recently completed the directory.

Active member and High Priest in the LDS Church and served in the Senior Aaronic program and as Sunday School president.

Survived by his wife, Willa; three sons, and one daughter and their spouses: Joseph S. and Dorothy, Idaho Falls; John A. and Peggy, Layton; Ken F. and Nancy, Brigham City; and Ross and Kaye K. Jacobson, Nibley, Utah; 21 grandchildren; one brother, Floyd, Glendale, Calif.; and two sisters, Helen Cornia, Randolph; and Elthera Johnson, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Myrtle and LotaMae, and one brother, Wayne J.

Funeral services will be held in the Randolph Ward Chapel on Thurs., January 28, 1993 at 1 p.m. Viewing will be Wednesday at the Crandall Funeral Home, 6-8 p.m. and before the funeral at the chapel from 12-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Sheldon requested contributions be sent to Boy Scout Service Center, 1925 Dewar Dr., Space 16, Rock Springs, Wyoming, 82901.
