A public meeting will be held Wednesday in Murray to discuss improving wildlife and fish habitat along the Jordan River Parkway, as a way to fulfill requirements of the Central Utah Project Completion Act.
The act requires the improvements as mitigation for loss of habitat caused by building the massive water project. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Murray City Hall, 5025 S. State Street.
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and some other groups are interested in developing a funding proposal for the Jordan River corridor and 14 other proj-ects.
At Wednesday's meeting, several issues will be raised, said Nancy L. Lillquist, CUP planning team coordinator for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. A key issue is how the planning team "will organize itself to accomplish the task of developing a funding proposal to submit to the Utah Reclamation and Conservation Commission," she said.
