SHARE BALLARD MEDICAL’S FISCAL PROFITS JUMP 38%

Ballard Medical Products, makers of hospital disposable products, reported a 30 percent increase in sales and a 38 percent increase in earnings for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30.

Net sales for fiscal year 1993 were $64.8 million, compared with $49.78 million for fiscal 1992. Net sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 1993 were $17.07 million, compared with $13.12 million for the fourth quarter last year.The company had net income of $18,540,000 for fiscal year 1993, compared with $13,464,291 for fiscal year 1992. Net income for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1993 was $5,011,664, compared with $3,996,337 for the same quarter the previous year.

Earnings per share for the fiscal year was 67.6 cents, compared with 49.4 cents a year ago. Earnings per share for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1993 was 18.2 cents, compared with 14.7 cents for the fourth quarter 1992. All 1992 earnings per share figures are restated for a Feb. 26 four-for-three stock split given in the form of a stock dividend.

On Sept. 9, 1993, Ballard Medical was approved and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BMP.

All data for the past two fiscal years reflect the consolidation of Ballard Medical, Code Blue Medical and Medical Innovations Corp.
