Atlanta Falcons officials are talking with two-sport star Deion Sanders about whether to extend his contract, according to his agent. Falcons president Taylor Smith had lunch with Sanders on Thursday, in the wake of the team's 0-4 start, the worst since 1985. Sanders is currently playing sparingly for the Atlanta Braves, who are in the midst of a division race.

Thursday's meeting came less than two weeks after Smith conceded that the Falcons might not be able to afford the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, given the NFL's pending salary cap.
