Elleve Bach Petersen Dye Tom, our wonderful and beloved mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father October 19, 1993 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 5, 1925 to Niels C. and Elleve Bach Petersen in Manti, Utah. Married Van Dye; later divorced. Married C.P. Tommy Tom; later divorced. She raised eight children who will always remember her for her courage, strength, guidance and compassion for others. We will miss her deeply. She received her nursing certificate through Holy Cross Hospital. Started her volunteer work with Olympus Care Center and continued caring and helping senior citizens through the FNC where she became assistant night manager. She loved sewing and handicrafts, especially ceramics. Received many awards for her volunteer services.Our many thanks and appreciation to her doctors at the University Hospital and Hospice. Very special thanks to her aids, especially Holly Olsen.

Survived by children and their spouses, Timothy (Jean), Tina (Joe), Amber (Gilbert), Judy (Allen), Kesty , Dane (Josie), Nena (Brian); 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; seven brothers and two sisters, Ann, Sena, Ted, William, Robert, Thomas, Arvid, Dewey, Niels. Preceded in death by parents; son, Martin Niels; grandson, Brent; brothers, Ralph, Jack; and sisters, Rachel, and Oda.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. at the Manti City Cemetery. Friends may call at the family home on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Hospice or University of Utah Medical Center.
