"Silent Comedy: 1912-1929," the third in an eight-part series of lectures and films on "A History of Cinema" at the Utah Film & Video Center, will be presented tonight (Nov. 19) at 7:30 p.m. at the center, 20 S. West Temple.

Guest lecturer will be Dale Elrod, an MFA candidate in film studies at the University of Utah and an accomplished filmmaker. Elrod has lectured at the U. for the past three years and will include film excerpts from some of the early comedies of this era as well as screening Charlie Chaplin's "The Immigrant" and Buster Keaton's "The General."A $5 donation is suggested at the door to help cover programming costs.
