I would like to respond to a recent article by Lee Davidson regarding Sen. Orrin Hatch and the showdown over diet supplements. Why do the regulators in Washington, D.C., know better than average citizens what we should do with every aspect of our lives? Don't they give us credit for any sense at all? Just because some people use their freedoms and make stupid mistakes, does that mean that that freedom should be taken away from us all?
Thank you, Sen. Hatch, for giving us some credit for good sense. I only hope that the good senator remembers that we are rational, thinking human beings as other legislation is proposed to further "protect" us from ourselves, including mandatory cradle-to-grave health care.Rex Proud
