Norbest donates turkeys
Norbest donated more than 1,000 pounds of turkey last week in an effort to fill empty cupboard space at the Utah Food Bank after meeting and exceeding challenges from two Utah state legislators.
After word got out that the Utah Food Bank was overdrawn, Sens. Leonard Blackham, R-Moroni, and Charles Stewart, R-Provo, came up with $380. Blackham, a turkey grower and a member of the board of directors of the Moroni Feed Company, which markets turkeys under the Norbest label, challenged Norbest to match the $380.
Norbest took them up on the offer and then some, arranging for delivery of 1,000 pounds of turkey to the Food Bank.
