Eighty harpists, age 3 to adult, will perform in a Suzuki harp-ensemble recital at 4 p.m. today in the State Capitol Rotunda.
Featured will be students of ShruDeLi Ownbey, Lysa Rytting, Kate Todd and Alysa Rey, with the youngest children playing folk harps in combination with players of concert grands.Admission is free and, according to concert organizers, anyone wearing red tennis shoes will win a door prize.
- THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH music department will present a pair of all-Rachmaninoff piano recitals today at 6:30 and 8 p.m. in Room 200 of Gardner Hall.
Performing will be students of Barlow Bradford, Lenora Ford Brown, Susan Duehlmeier, Gladys Gladstone, Bonnie Gritton, Douglas Humpherys and Janet Mann. They will be heard in selections from Rachmaninoff's Preludes, "Moments Musicaux" and "Etudes Tableaux," among other pieces, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the composer's death. In addition the 8 p.m. program will honor Gerald R. (Skip) Daynes for his contributions to the piano area.
Admission is $2.50 at the door.
- A MEMORIAL CONCERT marking the 30th anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy will be presented by the University of Utah Symphony Orchestra Monday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Kingsbury Hall on the U. campus.
Under its music director, Robert Debbaut, the orchestra will perform Dvorak's "New World" Symphony, the Adagietto from Mahler's Symphony No. 5, the "Homage March" from Grieg's music for "Sigurd Jorsalfar" and the Utah premiere of "Past the Evening Sun: In Memoriam John F. Kennedy" by North Carolina composer Hunter Johnson.
Premiered by the North Carolina Symphony, the piece won the 1964 Edward B. Benjamin Award for music of a meditative or tranquil nature. Johnson has also written music for string orchestra, chamber ensemble and the Martha Graham Dance Company ("Letter to the World").
Photos from the late president's life and career will be displayed via slide projector. Admission is $3, or $1 U. students ($2 other students), at the door.
- VIOLIST MICHAEL PALUMBO will present a faculty recital Monday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Allred Theater of Weber State University's Browning Center for the Performing Arts in Ogden. His program will consist of music of Reger and Hummel as well as Hindemith's "Der Schwanendreher." He will be accompanied by pianist Diana Page.

- EUGENE JELESNIK will lead the Salt Lake Philharmonic in its annual Holiday Pops Concert Friday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Marriott Hotel.
Featured will be soprano Billie Loukas, baritone Don Becker, pianist Bob Davis and the singing group Crystal Reflections. Included will be selections from Bizet's "Carmen" as well as other Viennese and operatic masterpieces. Admission is free.
