Larry Eustachy coaches his first game for Utah State University tonight when the rebuilding version of the Aggies play an exhibition game at 7 p.m. in the Smith Spectrum against the barnstorming B.C. Dona Zagreb club that is 0-5 on its Western trip.
Dona Zagreb has lost to Utah, Weber, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and San Francisco. The Aggies may not play 7-foot junior center Nathan Wickizer, who returned to the team Thursday after announcing his retirement from basketball, and, with the transition to Eustachy's style over the off-season, they are short a number of familiar names from last year's club. Missing will be starter Rod Hay and part-timers Abie Ramirez, Robert James and Sanchetz Turner. Jay Goodman, Carlito DaSilva, Todd Gentry and Gary Patterson graduated.
This year's Aggies include returning regulars Trent Rose, Junsie Cotten and Jon Wickizer, returned LDS missionaries Bryon Russell (iffy with back problems) and Eric Franson, plus Nate Wickizer.
The Aggies open their regular season Dec. 3 at Colorado State.
