John Gordon Hacking, 76, died November 20, 1993.

Born June 4, 1917 in Vernal, Utah, a son of Myron L. and Emma Hislop Hacking. Married Mary Olive Slaugh July 16, 1938 in Vernal. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Veteran of World War II, U.S. Navy. Active member of the LDS Church.Survived by his wife, Olive Hacking, Vernal, Utah; sons and daughters, John G. Hacking, St. George, Utah; Nolan S. Hacking, Dallas, Texas; Daniel G. Hacking, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Perry (Susan) Hayden, Vernal; Mary Katherine Logan, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Howard Allen, Whiterocks, Utah; Glen Allen, Carpenteria, Calif.; Mark Allen, Helen Broadaway, Mrs. Johnny (Eloise) Parker, all of Vernal.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 23, 1993, 11 a.m. at Davis Stake Center, 4080 South 2500 East, Vernal. Friends may call at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary on Monday, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial, Maeser Fairview Cemetery with full military honors.
